ORAL HISTORY INTERVIEW PARTICIPANTS

Below is a list of the people who were interviewed for our Oral History project. They were selected to participate because of their long-term residence and participation in the Jewish community of Shreveport.

Approximately half of the interviewees were B’nai Zion Temple members. They were interviewed by Sunday School students in the early 1990s. There are no specific dates for these interviews.

The other half of the interviewees were Agudath Achim members. They were interviewed in most cases by Susan Gross, and dates for the interviews are given.

A complete transcript of all of the interviews is available at the Agudath Achim Archives. The audio cassette tapes for the dated interviews are also stored there.

Excerpts from some of the interviews were used in the "Reminiscence" sections of Agudath Achim’s history book, Wings Toward the South.
